Our school is committed to providing excellence in education to all our students by promoting personal excellence, developing a learning community, developing competency in technology and developing literacy, oracy and numeracy. The school is recognised as an innovative, technological school. We are the hub school for the Lachlan Access Program which provides telematic lesson delivery for Year 11 and 12 students across four schools. The school receives additional resources and support through the Country Access Program.
It is envisaged that the network of schools in the Lachlan Access Program will expand during 2010-2011 to include a number of additional regional schools.
The school community recognises the changing needs of our learning environment, for example: during 2009 we launched a successful, comprehensive Preschool to Kindergarten transition program and an innovative iPod Touch trial to support ‘middle school' students use a wide range of technological tools across Key Learning Areas. These areas are continuing to be supported in 2010.
UCS receives funding from the Priority Schools Funding Program and the Low SES National Partnership. These resources assist the school in continuing to improve student literacy and numeracy outcomes and in developing programs that limit the effects of isolation. Our school values include respect, high expectations and ‘fair go'.
